Mold Removal Contractors in San Bernardino, CA

San Bernardino's mold problems don't come from excess moisture in the air. With 55% average humidity and just 12 inches of annual rainfall, you're in a relatively dry climate. Instead, mold here typically follows water: burst pipes, roof leaks, condensation around AC units, and foundation seepage. The catch is that most homes in San Bernardino were built around 1972, meaning older plumbing, roofing materials, and foundation designs that are more prone to unexpected failures. When that happens, mold can spread quickly in wall cavities and crawlspaces before you notice it.

A typical mold remediation project in San Bernardino runs between $1,800 and $5,500. The price depends on how much of your home is affected, whether framing or drywall needs replacement, and if the source (like a plumbing leak) has to be fixed first. Get multiple quotes and ask each contractor what's included - some prices cover only removal, while others include source repair and prevention measures.

California doesn't have a specific state license for mold remediation, but contractors must hold a valid Contractor's State License Board (CSLB) license. Before hiring anyone, verify their CSLB license number on the CSLB website, confirm they carry liability insurance, and check for IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) credentials. All 10 contractors listed here meet these standards.

One important note for San Bernardino specifically: because mold here is usually tied to a sudden water event rather than chronic dampness, don't assume you need ongoing mold prevention services. Focus on finding the leak first, fixing it, and then addressing the mold. That's where your money should go.
